Privacy Policy

Who this covers
This policy explains how the Meditation Lock iOS app ("Meditation Lock", "we", "us") handles information. It applies to the app and to this website, meditatelock.com.
Screen Time & your app list
Meditation Lock locks distracting apps using Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework. When you choose which apps to lock, iOS handles that selection through a system interface. Because of how Apple designed this framework, your specific app selections are stored by the operating system in a privacy-preserving way and are not visible to us. Meditation Lock never sees, transmits, or stores the identities of the particular apps you use or block.
Data stored on your device
Your settings and activity stay on your device (and, if you enable it, in your private iCloud account). This includes:
- Your lock schedule and meditation preferences (session length, bells).
- Your meditation history, streaks, and habit-tracker / levelling progress.
- Your emergency-unlock passcode, stored locally on your device.
We do not operate a server that receives this information. Deleting the app removes this on-device data.
What we collect
Meditation Lock does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email, or contacts. We do not build a profile of you and we do not run advertising. The app does not collect personal information to a server we control.
Subscriptions & purchases
Meditation Lock offers a free trial followed by an optional subscription (monthly or annual) or a one-time lifetime purchase. All payments are processed by Apple through your App Store account — we never see or store your payment-card details. Apple shares only aggregated, non-identifying transaction information with us so we can manage entitlements (for example, whether a purchase is active). Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings.
Diagnostics & analytics
If you opt in through iOS (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share anonymous, aggregated crash and usage diagnostics with developers through App Analytics. This data is not tied to your identity and is controlled by your device settings. Meditation Lock does not embed third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
Sharing & selling
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. Because the app does not collect identifiable personal data on our side, there is nothing for us to sell or trade.
Children
Meditation Lock is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because your data lives on your own device, you are in direct control: you can edit your settings in the app, reset your progress, or delete the app to remove its data. If you have questions or a request that involves us, contact us using the details below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
